Thomas Gleixner, founder of Linutronix, has worked on industrial embedded devices for over 20 years. During the last 8 years he has focused on Linux for industrial applications, where he is an active contributor. He is the main author of the hrtimer subsystem and the high resolution timer implementation on top of hrtimers. Thomas is also a major contributor to the real-time preemption patch.

Dr. Manas Saksena, Director of Embedded Linux Systems at Marvell Semiconductors, was previously CTO at TimeSys Corporation where he was responsible for developing TimeSys technology and product strategy and overall product architecture, design, and implementation. Prior to joining TimeSys, he spent 6 years as an academic and researcher focusing on real-time systems, and published numerous research papers in journals and conferences. Dr. Saksena received his B.Tech. (Computer Science and Engineering, 1988) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees (Computer Science, 1991 and 1994) from the University of Maryland, College Park.
