Timesys Embedded Linux Industry Alliances![]() The CE Linux Forum (CELF) is an industry group focused on the advancement of Linux as an Open Source platform for consumer electronics devices. Through an open process, CELF members, including TimeSys, clarify and codify certain requirements addressed by the Open Source community, and evaluate Open Source submissions to determine their effectiveness and responsiveness to these requirements. Open Source submissions accepted by the CELF Architecture Group and Steering Committee are incorporated into the CELF source tree, which itself is open to the public. Learn more about the CELF. ![]() The Eclipse Consortium is a community committed to the implementation of an Open Source, universal platform for tools integration. TimeSys is a supporting member on the Eclipse board of stewards, represented by Chief Technology Officer Dr. Manas Saksena. TimeSys's development and testing tools enable development teams to focus their efforts on building applications, not configuring toolsets and learning different environments. Learn more about Eclipse. ![]() The Open Source Development Lab (OSDL) is a global consortium of leading technology companies dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Linux. TimeSys offers an array of embedded-level tools and Linux performance enhancements that deliver a key piece of the industry ecosystem for the acceleration of Linux in carrier grade and data center environments. TimeSys joined OSDL to help guide the creation of a Linux platform that fully supports carrier grade, commercial, off-the-shelf development, and is the first to register a Linux distribution according to the OSDL Carrier Grade Linux Requirements Definition Version 2.0.1. The Real-Time Specification for Java Expert Group (RTSJ), also referred to as JSR-1 under the Java Community Process, was chartered to produce a specification for extensions to the Java platform to make Java programs suitable for real-time applications. TimeSys has been instrumental in the evolution of the Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ), which extends and modifies the Java runtime environment. TimeSys is the RTSJ maintenance lead and wrote the RTSJ reference implementation (RI) and the Technology Compatibility Kit (TCK) test suite. Dr. Raj Rajkumar, a member of the RTSJ expert group, is a TimeSys founder. Download the RI and TCK. Jcp.org is a good place to find out about the RTSJ expert group. It's also a good place to find out about the JCP.
