Intel XScale IOP332

The LinuxLink software distribution model enables the usage of the Intel IOP332 LinuxLink for development targeting all designs based on Intel 80332 XScale microarchitecture processor. As Intel's next-generation I/O processor, the IOP332 continues to build on Intel's strength in delivering computing power to intelligent I/O applications that require a highly integrated, high-performance system on a chip processor with an integrated PCI Express interface.

Processor derivatives enabled:

The Intel IOP332 LinuxLink can also be used as a starting point for Linux development for designs based on the Intel XScale core processors, and ARM-based devices, simplifying code porting from existing designs.

Reference boards/OEM boards enabled:

The Intel IOP332 LinuxLink can also be used as a starting point for Linux development for designs derived from the ARC-1210/1220/1230/1260 from Areca.

Notes:

Complete peripheral support for Intel IOP332 derived integrated processors, or board support for other reference designs, might need to be sourced from manufacturers of the respective processors or reference boards.

Processor Overview

The IOP332 is Intel's next-generation I/O processor, featuring an 800 MHz CPU, high-performance internal bus, enhanced memory controller and a high-bandwidth PCI Express to PCI-X Bridge to provide a high-performance, highly integrated processor solution that can be used to construct RAID devices integrated on iSCSI cards, PCI host Raid cards etc.
