Online Public Training
Online sessions. Focused training to help shorten your learning curve.
Timesys offers online training that focus on the embedded software development workflow. These free, online, embedded Linux tracks are designed to help developers — both novices and experts — shorten their learning curve for building embedded Linux-based devices.
Each Timesys University online track consists of individual, focused sessions that range from 30- to 60-minutes in length. Through a series of online sessions, you will learn the basic concepts and best practices unique to embedded Linux development and how you can easily create, manage and maintain your product using Timesys software and products.
All sessions are initially presented live, giving you the opportunity to participate and ask questions. And each live session is recorded, so you can view it again as often as you’d like as well as watch any sessions you may have missed.

This four-session webinar series utilizes open source Linux and Timesys’ TimeStorm IDE for embedded application- and system-level development. You’ll see how TimeStorm provides a consistent development experience while providing application developers with the flexibility they need to be more efficient and productive.
The sessions in this Timesys University track are designed to provide an overview of the application development process, including assembly of the development environment and its use to code, debug, optimize and maintain complex applications.
Building a Connected Home Automation Device with the Digi ConnectCore™ Wi-i.MX51 using LinuxLink
In this hands-on series, you will utilize open source Linux and Timesys’ LinuxLink tools to build a custom home control and automation device using Digi’s Wi-i.MX51 ConnectCore™ reference board. The requirements for this small project include technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPIO, LCD displays, graphics stacks, power management and more.
The product designed in this Timesys University track will be optimized for small footprint deployment on the target and fast boot time. All sessions are designed to provide hands-on experience throughout the entire development process, including assembly of the development environment and its use to develop a Linux based platform and a Qt based UI application.
Building an Internet Radio with the TI Sitara AM3517 using LinuxLink
Using open source Linux, Timesys LinuxLink tools and the TI Sitara AM3517 reference board, attendees of this hands-on, four-session Timesys University track will build a rich UI based dual display video player device to play back high-resolution 720 / 1080p video. The product requirements for this project include such technologies as LCD display, GStreamer graphics stacks, power management and more.
